CRITERIA
1. Student must have current Parent Permission/Physical form.
2. student must have a minimum 2.0 GPA

EVALUATION
A number system will be used to identify runners. Students will know only their numbers. I will post students' numbers on my office door. Students will know if they are members of the team.

Students will be evaluated with a number system. (1 through 3)
1 being excellent; 2 being average; and 3 being poor

The evaluation is on the following:
1. Running form.
2. Running speed-40 yard time trial
3. Work ethic (how student performs exercises and stretches
4. Two-mile time trials

RULES AND REGULATIONS

 

1. The cross country length must be 2 miles. The championship course will be 2 miles. Invitational (optional) meet distances are up to the meet director.

2. The course (all meets) must be marked at turns to show direction of run.

3. Officials must be supplied by host schools, officials include: times, time recorder, and finish clerk.

4. Each finisher must be timed and given his/her time.

5. Cross country scoring will be in effect with low scoring winner.

6. Each school will participate by the schedule as agreed upon. Failure to participate results in forfeiture. (15 - 50 score). A 15 minute period of grace will exist before forfieture is called.

7. All team members must run in comparable uniforms.

8. All runners must wear shoes.

9. All team members can run in the County Championship Meet. However, if a member of your team runs in the JV meet on Tuesday, they are not allowed to run in the County Championship Meet on Wednesday.

10. Eligibility shall follow the eligibility rules set forth by the Okaloosa County Middle School Athletic Conference. Eligibility forms should be submitted to: Mr. Bob Jones, principal at Richbourg Middle School, 5 school days before the first meet or the meet will be forfieted and/or a fine will be assessed.

11. Meets will be held on scheduled days. Times set by the Home school. Host school must send the results to the media.

12. Individual runners who do not comprise a full 5 person team have no bearing on the team score. The individual is eligible for a top 10 medal. For example, if a school only has 4 girls and a girl finishes first, she is the county champion, but the second place girl counts as first in the team scoring and so on.

A. Teams must have at least 5 runners

B. The top 5 runners per team are scorers; all runners are kickers.

C. The girls meet will precede the boys meet.

Early season practice meets are optional.

All arrangements for makeups will be made with schools agreeing on date and time. Home school to make arrangements. Schedule changes should be reported to the Commissioner.

CHAMPIONSHIP AWARDS: GIRLS AND BOYS - FIRST PLACE TEAM AWARD

Individual medals for 1-10. In case of a situation where there are not enough individuals to comprise a team, individuals can run as individuals for that school in the appropriate divisions. Host team to select and purchase championship awards and medals.

JV Championship will have individual ribbons for 1-10.
